WISP in Norfolk
WISP means 'Wireless Internet Service Provider'. They use wireless to connect users to their broadband transmitters. The house aerials are small compared with satellite dishes and are cheaper. Speeds are modest, usually 8 Mbit/s download and 1 Mbit/s upload. All of the prices shown below are for those speeds and chosen from the ranges on offer. Some business contracts allow higher upload speeds.
The three ISPs below are the ones who service Norfolk at present. Two offer a guaranteed speed of 8 and all offer unlimited data, which usually means 150Gbit before speed slugging. You don't need a phone line, which effectively means nearly £17 off the total price of the service. Latencies are about the same as a landline.
However along came 4G so in 2020 I decided to use that.
